Communications Director; Organizer of the 2020 BPIA Diversity in International Affairs Conference

  • Conceptualized and successfully executed the 2020 BPIA Diversity in International Affairs Virtual Conference and Career Fair (found here) resulting in over 500+ attendees, 17+ exhibitors, 20 sponsors, 8 expert panels, and over $13,000 in revenues.  

  • Developed BPIA’s 2020 strategic communications plan that resulted in 300% increased followership and engagement across all platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter). 

  • Conducted an organizational assessment to identify gap areas and successfully implemented solutions. 

  • Developed and moderated the BPIA Career Talk Series and “Let’s Talk Leadership” Series that has increased organizational awareness and digital footprint. 

  • Created graphic designs for event flyers, brochures, event banners, and marketing material.

  • Created a content plan for regularly evaluating and publishing content on BPIA’s public websites to ensure content stays relevant, timely, and aligned with BPIA priorities

  • Requested to provide strategic communications plan to the new executive board; presented plan to organization leadership and stakeholders

Fellow, International Affairs Task Force

  • Worked directly with the Associate Director on the International Affairs Task Force to develop and implement frameworks to build the capacity of task force member agencies to increase outreach and opportunities for HBCU institutions; identify necessary and helpful functions of the newly created task force webpage

  • Assisted in session development and logistical planning of the annual WHIHBCU HBCU Conference, Professionalism Day, and presented on confidence-building at the 4th AfAmWomenLead Student Summit

  • Drafted press releases, dipnotes, quotables, fact sheets, social media toolkits, and media news clips that were officially published by the Department and featured on agency social media platforms, utilizing Google Analytics and Hootsuite 

  • Created the first Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)  for my position

  • Monitored electronic and print media throughout the day, provided breaking news media alerts to PASC Staff on events and issues relevant to ECA programs and activities.
